Gathering is easy with the right foot! Use the Gathering Foot to gather single layers of fabric in all fabric types.
The slot of the foot allows the gathering of one piece of fabric while it is being attached to another (ungathered) layer.
A ruffle can be made and attached in one operationThe amount of gathering can be adjusted by varying stitch length and needle thread tension
For heavier fabrics, the use of the long stitch or basting stitch will facilitate gathering
